Washington State Elks Therapy Program for Children. To the children
and their families ...it makes a difference
At the 1954 convention of Washington State Elks Association, a decision
was made which would ultimately change the direction
of the entire organization. It was determined that the Elks in Washington
State should be more than a gathering point for those who belonged to
the Association. The Elks should contribute to the welfare of the entire
community.
Research indicated the best way the organization could achieve such an ambition. The greatest need was in the area of therapy for children with special needs. Many children could enjoy a better life if affordable, quality pediatric therapy was available.
The Washington Elks decided they could help by establishing the Washington Elks Therapy Program for Children, Inc. and its services would be offered FREE.
Pediatric therapy is provided by licensed occupational and physical
therapists to those who have no other source of
therapy service readily available to them.
An Elk never stands so TALL as when he reaches to help a child in need.
